India-Nepal Friendship Summit 2024
Kathmandu Model College (KMC), in collaboration with the Global Leaders Foundation, successfully hosted the Second India-Nepal Friendship Summit 2024 on Kartik 26, 2081. The event, themed “Globalization and Socioeconomic Development 2.0,” was held at the KMC auditorium, bringing together academics, experts, and students from Nepal and India to explore opportunities for bilateral collaboration in education, technology, and sustainable development.
The summit was inaugurated by Mr. Prithvi Subba Gurung, Nepal’s Minister for Communication and Information Technology, and hosted by former Miss Nepal Sadikshya Shrestha. The event was chaired by Mr. Ramesh Tripathi, Chairman of the Global Leaders Foundation, and co-chaired by Mr. Surendra Subedi, Principal of KMC College.
Prominent speakers, including Prof. Dr. Biju Kumar Thapaliya, Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University, and Mr. Gurung, highlighted the importance of empowering youth, educational reforms, and collaboration between India and Nepal to address shared challenges and drive progress in education, technology, and socioeconomic growth.
The summit featured 25 experts presenting papers across five thematic groups:
- Arts and Humanities
- Business and Commerce
- Environment and Sustainable Development
- Science and Technology
- Promotion of Education.
The discussions were led by distinguished scholars and aimed at fostering stronger bilateral relations between the two nations.
The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Ms. Shilu Bajracharya, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Open University; Prof. Dr. Dilli Raj Sharma, Dean of Tribhuvan University; and Prof. Dr. Ashish Semwal, Vice-Chancellor of Mayadevi University, Dehradun, among others.
The summit concluded with a commitment to deepen cooperation in education and sustainable development, marking a significant milestone in India-Nepal relations.
