BA/BSW (Bachelor’s in Arts in Social Work)

Introduction

The BA/BASW program at KMC under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Tribhuvan University is a blended degree that encourages students to study the courses as English literature, rural development, sociology, mass communication, journalism, psychology, economics, etc. Centering on human life, these courses inculcate in students a spirit of inquiry, critical thinking, analytical, research, problem solving, effective communication, writing skills and an appreciation for literature. This outstanding BASW program at KMC enables students to develop values, knowledge, and skills, and prepares graduates for foundation- level social work practice or a career at I/NGOs and in civil services. BASW graduates have numerous opportunities for employment in community development, child right and child protection, child welfare and family services, mental health, and school-based settings. We prepare our students for the social sector through rigorous training in report and proposal writing, persuasive communication, lobbying and advocacy, social action, community organization, and social leadership. Under the guidance of a dedicated department, KMC aims at producing social sector leaders that not only contribute nationally but globally.

Admission Criteria
  • Students seeking admission in Social Work must have secured at least D+ in all subjects in Grade 11 and Grade 12.
    OR
  • Passed + 2 or Intermediate or PCL from TU or from any other institution recognized by TU with a minimum of 45% marks.
  • Only those students who have passed the interview will be eligible for an admission

Scholarship
